Copper gutters and downspouts
Copper Gutters in Los Angeles

Why copper
What copper gets right on a house
Copper is not the only gutter metal, and it is not the least expensive one. People choose it for a few specific reasons.

It is the metal itself
There is no paint layer to chip, peel or fade. What you see on day one is solid copper, and what you see in twenty years is the same copper with a deeper color.
Copper vs aluminum →It ages instead of wearing out
Bright copper darkens to a warm brown within months, and over many years it can move toward the green patina you see on old buildings. That change is a protective layer, not damage.
It suits the architecture
Copper sits naturally on traditional, Spanish, Tudor, craftsman and modern homes alike, especially against brick, stucco, wood siding and dark roofs.
Gutter profiles →It is built in one piece with its parts
Corners, end caps, outlets, hangers and downspouts are copper too, so the whole system weathers to one color and you avoid mixing metals that react with each other.
How we install →
On the job
A recent copper gutter job, start to finish
The photos on this site come from one of our own copper gutter jobs, installed over three days in March 2026. The crew brought the copper to the curb, set long runs on stands, and carried each section to the house before hanging it along the eaves and around a brick chimney.
Nothing on this site is a stock photo. Every person you see is part of our crew, and every gutter is one we installed. We only show and describe work we actually did.
Process
How a copper gutter job runs
Five stages, the same crew from the first visit to the last downspout.

Look at the house
We walk the eaves, check the fascia and roof edge, and see where water collects and where it should go.
Plan the runs
We lay out gutter lengths, slope, outlet locations and downspout positions so water leaves the roof and the foundation quickly.
Prepare the edge
Any old gutters come down. Any soft fascia or loose trim is pointed out before anything new is hung on it.
Hang the copper
Gutters go up on hangers matched to the copper, at a steady pitch, with corners, end caps and outlets joined and sealed.
Downspouts and cleanup
Downspouts are set to carry water away from the house, then the site is cleaned and we walk the finished work with you.

FAQ
Copper gutters in Los Angeles: common questions
Do you install copper gutters in Los Angeles yourselves?
Yes. Our own crew does the work, and we do not use subcontractors. The people who measure your eaves are the same company that hangs the gutters and sets the downspouts. You can read more about how a copper gutter installation runs.
Will copper gutters turn green?
Copper starts bright and darkens to a brown, bronze tone within months of exposure. Over many years, depending on moisture, air and how sheltered the eave is, it can develop a green patina. In the dry Los Angeles climate that change tends to be slow. The patina is a protective layer, not corrosion that weakens the gutter.
Are copper gutters worth it compared to aluminum?
It depends on what you want from them. Copper costs more up front and is chosen for its long life, its looks and the fact that there is no paint to maintain. Aluminum is lighter and less expensive. We lay out the trade-offs plainly on our copper vs aluminum gutters page.
What gutter profile do you use?
The copper job shown on this site uses an ogee, or K-style, profile. Half-round is the other common copper profile and is popular on traditional homes. The two differ in looks, capacity and how they hang, which we explain on the half-round copper gutters page.
Is your company licensed?
Yes. Eclipse Remodeling & Roofing Inc holds California contractor license #888710. You can check any contractor license on the Contractors State License Board website.
